What the hell is SOMA anyway?

Myth: SOMA Magazine is a local publication solely based in the South of Market district of San Francisco.
Fact: Originally an ancient Indo-Persian term involing ecstasy, and later used by the Greeks and Romans to refer to the body, the word "soma" has meant many things over time. Aldous Huxley described it as a holiday from the ordinary, while William S Burroughs used it to hypothesize the posibility of a on-addictive form of opium. SOMA also happens to be the name of one of the longest-running arts and culture publications in the country.
Today, with an international readership, the publication finds itself at the forefront of what is possible in the world of fashion, art, music, film, and design. It strives to keep a promise made over two decades ago to showcase up-and-coming talent, pay homage to the legends among us and celebrate the avant-garde.

You know something funny? Soma is the Greek word for Body.
So the 'Body' of Christ from the Greek Bible where it was written by the Greek speaking Paul of Tarsus and John of Patmos originally and still does say the "Soma" of Christ, which was later translated into Latin as body.
That's pretty strange, Lima. This one word has so many meanings. By the way, it's very good to see you again. xoxo
Thanks Susan, I've been meaning to ask you why you changed the name from easybakecoven.
I've been working on the Soma mystery for about a year now by putting a book together on the history of visionary plants and chemicals by the ancients. Its amazing just how much of an impact they had on human development. So far the most interesting primary source is probably Pliny who draws on the first hand accounts left by Pythagoras and Democritus on the visionary plants used by the Magi which is cataloged and described in detail.
