Sunday, August 16, 2009

This is the official clip from Sweden dance collective BOUNCE & Friends. More than 300 dancers met at 15.30, got informed and then learned the choreography in 30 min. Less then 1 hour later they performed it.

::I wonder how Warren Zevon is getting along. He wasn't feeling very well in April and sadly, living with a terminal disease has got to drag you down pretty quickly.

::Do penis enlargement pills work? One weblogger is documenting his experience with the pills. Sorry, no pictures.

::White House For Sale - Tracking the special-interest contributions to President Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign.

::US admits it used napalm bombs in Iraq - The more we uncover about the war in Iraq, the dirtier it gets.

::"Its time to social engineer the texting, blackberry-checking, cell-phone sheep that promote this waste of public space. Flash Mobs: Your 15 minutes are over. Disperse now."

Now there's Anti-Mob site and an Anti-Mob Project, and Flashhack. Or for info or to sign up for Flash Mobs in your area, go here, here, or here.

Quote For Today

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.

~Mary Jean Iron

Fond of dead flowers, spiders, nipple rings--- all the usual girlie stuff.

Good morning to you...

::You remember how much I bitch about my sadu? (that's slow ass dial-up to the uninitiated) Since moving, my surfing speed is twice or more what it used to be. Yes, it's a good thing. I haven't had much spare time lately, and I hope to get back to my usual blog-visiting soon.

::Episcopal Gay Bishop wins approval. Another good thing.

::Edited to add: 1:41pm - As an Episcopalian, the confirmation of Gene Robinson, priest of New Hampshire, and now Bishop-elect, I'm following this news closely. Also reading any weblogs on this matter. What I've read so far is very complimentary and tactful. It's such a delicate matter when we discuss religion in real life, and online; and I'm happy to see that bloggers I've read are taking the high road. I have a more detailed post on the matter on my Susan*Jayne site.

::Much of the nation has had hellacious storms lately. The cars looked like boats floating down one of our main roads yesterday. Afternoon showers are predicted for the next 4 days. Not a good thing.

::Email Flash Mobs meeting up around the country. Dallas had one recently. Another good thing, until they begin attaching causes to them, which I think is inevitable.

Friday, already? But I haven't gotten enough done yet to call it a week. It's Aloha Friday, too.

I was talking to a writer-teacher neighbor yesterday and we were talking about whoever it was that said, "There's a book in everyone." I'll go that one further with this eye-opener I saw later on a weblog. (the word "blog" just doesn't roll off the tongue, does it? Sounds like it rolls from some place else.) "Stop hiding your personality with a list of links." Youch. I'm working on it.

Stupd Penis Tricks is a fun link---this particular page has cartoons penis-es, penii?. What IS the plural of penis, teacher? Dicks?

First Annual SF Flip Off, Wednesday. We sit in a circle and flip each other off with both hands, and eyes closed. There's many pending FlashMob, SmartMobs, scheduled here. {Dallas, Toronto, Philly, Orange County, & more} I suppose it's legit. You can sign up and when one comes to your metro area, you'll be notified.

Justin Timberlake may not be a Stones' fan crowd pleaser, but to pelt him with water bottles was in very poor taste. I watched a clip of him live that evening and I thought he looked like he'd been crying. I don't care for his music, and would have taken that opportunity to find a port-a-potty, or grab some of that bbq. Although I did boo an act once when I was about 18. I went to see the Allman Brothers (Southern Rock) and Billy Joe Royal (Pop) opened the show, so he caught the our collective "hurry up and get yo ass off stage so we can see the Allman Brothers" wrath. Now that I'm almost a grownup, I see how idiotic it was to do that.

Jeff Beck has an album releasing on August 5. I think of Beck's Bolero whenever I see his name. Still have that album in safe-keeping, I hope. Or is that one of yours, Robin?

Meg's making sure the color names work in all browsers and has kindly made a color chart for easy use. Thanks, M, for all your help and hard work.
