Happy Valentine's Day

Love Quotes For The Today

As human beings, we share what is real. Joy, sorrow, care, courage, and tenderness are real. Tears are real, and so is laughter. These are the currency of the heart. They are meant to be exchanged. ~Anonymous

When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. ~Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970)

The pure love of one person can offset the hatred of thousands. ~Mahatma Gandhi

Life is short and we do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who travel the way with us, so be swift to love and make haste to be kind. ~Unknown

Anti-Valentines Day

Sunday, January 24, 2010

If you're not a big Valentine's Day fan, maybe Dirty Rotten Flowers can help you celebrate Anti-Valentine's Day.

This Morticia arrangement is one option. I think one dozen decapitated roses ought to do it. Valentine's Day's alright but these decapitated roses just may work in some cases, especially since Mick and Keith had a lot of success with a song they wrote about Dead Flowers.

When you don't care enough to send anything resembling the very best you might want to send dead fish. WTF? Visit Payback.com and see revenge at its best.

Why did I never think of something clever to do when I experienced a painful breakup? Slut that I am was, I probably thought sleeping with their best friend was enuf.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ANYWAY!

Who's working today? I may work some tonight, too. My daughter and my son are both working today. He's almost through and she just went in to work 3P - 11P. She still works for Virgin Mobile over at Sitel Corp (which used to be called Client Logic). Everybody in Asheville has either worked for Client Logic or knows someone who has.

So to everyone and especially those working, I wish you a Merry Christmas, and all the other pertinent holiday greetings today.

Santacon!

Every December for the last 14 years, Cacophonous Santas have been visiting cities around the world, engaging in a bit of Santarchy as part of the annual Santacon events.

Above photo is from Portland, OR, taken by Squid Vicious. Some of the cities that have been targeted for a Santarchy invasion in December 2007 are listed at the Santarchy site.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Sending much love to my son and daughter today and always.

Still driving each other insane after all these years. Freshly brewed coffee, truffles, cards and flowers were waiting for me on my desk this morning. And here I thought we weren't even speaking to each other. I made him a carrot cake for his Valentine's treat. But he just gets a nibble. Of cake. [picture: capnwacky via: presurfer ]

I'd like to concur with GoFish and also celebrate the newly married folks in San Francisco. What a joyous time for you all.

This Antique Christmas Lights site is indexed by decades. Some of my favorite tree lights were the "bubble lights" on my Grandmother's tree when I was small. Or the pastel frosted glass ones. Now most tree lights are the miniature strings with either multi-colors or all white lights. How about a tree filled with novelty lights?

Holiday Snow screensaver each Christmas season. A personal favorite I've dug up each year since 1997 and always the favorite at work.

Trying to get my blogging done in time for the Duke game @ 9:00 pm Wednesday night. I'm a huge Duke Blue Devils basketball fan. They happen to be playing Michigan State University (MSU) tonight; Shirl's favorite team. From her hometown, no less. I believe that our friendly wager involves me bragging about how great MSU's win was if they win, and Shirl will extol Duke's virtues if they win.

"...On Discover, on Visa, on American Express, On Mastercard too, I sadly confess.
