Patti Smith on Michael Jackson

**EDITED TO CHANGED** This is actually quoted by her bassist, Tony Shanahan. Sorry for the wrong attribution. Thank you.
From Patti on Michael's passing:
"I loved him, and truly was a fan. I bought all the records and danced in my room to them. We we're the same age so I felt like we were growing up together.Read more from Patti about seeing the Jackson 5 way back when. I admire that she's over 50 years old and still getting it done. Like us.
When the fame came.... I was proud of him. He broke barriers and changed the music world.
When it was announced early this year that he was going to perform again and do 50 shows I was excited and rooted for him. I wanted to see him back on top doing what he did best.
I'm just so sad....."

Patti is playing on the pier in Santa Monica on September 3. Any chance you could join me???
Oh, wow! Wish I could, Sister. I'm a live-in caregiver now so my concert days are on hold.
Oh right. Damn. Maybe I can persuade her to visit you! She can bring me with her, and Lenny Kaye too, of course.
Sorry, But if you read the whole news again, These quotes are not by Patti smith, these quotes are made by her bassist named Tony Shanahan.
