Good morning. What? Another gloomy-ass rain-soaked day? Surely not.
Happy Birthday, Rhonda!
Rhonda is celebrating her birthday today.
Happy Canada Day! I hope my Canadian friends enjoy this special day.
music news
Kick-ass classic rock band from the 70s, Jethro Tull, has a Christmas Album due in October just in time for the holiday season. No, this wasn't found on the Onion, or the National Lampoon parody web site. This came from their own site and will feature, among other nuggets, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Jethro Tull's now officially,
A: left the building,
B: jumped the shark, or
C: signed for the 4 pm shuffleboard tourney in the day room.
Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam, has taken the Flaming Lips to court, and won: The Flaming Lips have been forced to turn over publishing royalties to Cat Stevens as part of a settlement in which Stevens alleged that the Lips' song "Fight Test" bore a very close resemblance to his early '70s track "Father and Son" (full story) [via done waiting]
Have you ever noticed how everything's always listed as It "bore" a striking resemblance, or it "bore" a close similarity, etc. Isn't close and resemblance sorta the same thing? Why do we even need it to "bear" or "bore"? Or which ever one is applicable. And by the way, is it AP-plic-able, or ap-PLIC-able?...
