DARK ART
(RIGHT) Good art, to me, is not only visually pleasing, but moves the viewer or stirs up emotions. David Ho is one such artist. The Abortion piece is raw and impressive, no matter how you feel about the issue. His Infected Mushroom is alternately beautiful and creepy. Visit Gallery »
DARK PHOTOGRAPHY
(LEFT) NSFW -not safe for work- (May be offensive to some.) Disturbing, yet titillating and erotic. Beautiful photos from John Santerineross, the leading dark art photographer of our time; although they could be viewed as misogynistic or controversial, can be found in his new book, Dream, available Oct 1. I met him years ago in NY and he's so gifted. He and David LaChapelle are two of the best photogs out there, in my opinion. Dave is whimsy/sexy, John is dark/erotic.
**Personally, for non-manipulated photos, I enjoy looking at the world thru my friends' eyes. Kane's view of Hawaii, Marie's of the Blue Ridge Mtns, and Lynn's days in Halifax. Photographs, like other art forms, are very revealing.
