Wow especially flatlined at 19... That's fuked!
Sort of similar story. First drank 15, it wasn't too long after that till 20 that life was a drug fueled haze with most things under the sun day after day.
No regrets though. The best time was 16-17 psychedelics left right and center. The worst at the end was coming off coke, but especially codeine. The cravings stuck with me years after until I took San Pedro and then it was like they'd gone completely.
I find it very impressive that you managed to stay sane after all that. I'm sure most people who started meth and barbs at 15 and stayed addicted for so long after that simply aren't around to tell the story.
Yeah, it's an old familiar story. Many of my friends have left their skin suits behind.
It was hard not to lose my mind when so much of this stuff helped to numb the pain. I lost custody of my son, a great house I worked hard for, and on and on but those two things nearly killed me. But it wasn't enough to stop me from getting high.
Much later when I was 38 years old I asked for help for the first time. I went in for detox (off heroin) and I've been drug-free since. It's weird to talk about it and I still feel a lot of shame but so glad it's all behind me.
Now I root for everybody else and everyone's success is my success. :)
Thanks for listening, Lima.
I don't see why you should feel any shame at all. I know how addictive opiates can be and I was merely addicted to codeine. The fact you managed to kick heroin should be a an empowering sense of accomplishment.
I have to commend you. I know too many people who lack the will or courage or whatever you want to call it to stop doing drugs. I've seen people whose parents ruined their lives with drugs, and I mean to the point of literally killing themselves and getting diseases and losing everything, and these kids go on to do the same exact thing.
