How Overfishing Almost Got Capt. Phillips Killed by Pirates
By now, you've surely heard the engrossing story of Captain Richard Phillips, who was taken hostage by pirates off the coast of Somalia, and freed by a swift Navy sharpshooting operation that left three dead. But what you probably haven't heard is that the true root of this crisis isn't bloodthirsty pirates—it's overfishing.

I feel sorry for those 3 guys. The usual knee jerk reaction has some people thinking of the next Barbary war. The corporate media only ever gives us one side of the story and demands that it is right yet we are all humans when it comes down to it and any of us could have been born as a poor fisherman on the coast of Somalia.
Yeah screw the Capt! He's a white trespasser infringing on the black man's territory, taking his land, raping his women, stealing his what, what does Somalia have?, yeah fish. Those three who got shot we're just giving it to the man, wot with their RPG and AK's. Innocent! Man! They just wanted to educate the world on the plight of their nation, man and look wot that racist Obama did to them. Shot them without even blinking twice. Free Somolia! Free Somolia! The Cry is there! To catch fire around the world. Free Somolia! Oh yeah, it is free, its in anarchy, anarchy man! There was a great song once with that word in it, what was it? Oh Fuck it all, I'm so confused.
Anonymous: This was posted 2 wks ago to show the other side of that ordeal from what we'd been media-fed even though I'm empathetic towards Somalia's plight.
You made some good points and you almost had me there until you called Obama a racist.
Regardless, thanks for your input.
