I'm not sure everyone gets how big a stand she actually took when she refused to move to the back of the bus for a white man. Black people couldn't even look a white person in the eye and could only speak to white people when spoken to. It seems so barbaric and it was. And I'm sure she was beyond embarassed, but she turned it into constructive activism. She personified courage, and will long be remembered for that courageous spirit and brave activism. Go in honor and peace, Rosa Parks. You will not be forgotten.
