Why do all my daughter's friends happen to be gay and bisexual? Is it her? Yes, it's her. She's always been uninhibited and very open and told us she was bisexual when she was 13 and she's now 15. Which is fine with her Father and I. I hope I'm able to provide the right support, advice or encouragement when it's needed.
We're happy she's free enough to talk to us about something so personal. She's had some hard times at school because of her honesty. Although it is a different era, being gay is still not acceptable to some. And never will be.
I'm not sure if she's still searching for who she is, and parenting a teen daughter who's still exploring her own sexuality is uncharted territory for us. But if she ever needs a soft place to land she knows we'll always provide that for her; gay, straight, bi, or whatever.
