Ouija Altar Table

Friday, July 31, 2009

Here's something I'd like to have. I don't need it but I'd like to have it. It's over $200.00. sigh...

I've always been fascinated by Ouija Boards and all things Ouija. I recently bought some nice little silver Ouija Board earrings.

Dow Runs Scared from Water

"B'EAU-PAL" WATER SCARES DOW EXECS INTO HIDING

Plans to contribute to climate action in lead-up to Copenhagen begin to take shape

London - A new, beautifully-designed line of bottled water - this time not from the melting Alps, nor from faraway, clean-water-deprived Fiji, but rather from the contaminated ground near the site of the 1984 Bhopal catastrophe - scared Dow Chemical's London management team into hiding today.

Twenty Bhopal activists, including Sathyu Sarangi of the Sambhavna Clinic in Bhopal, showed up at Dow headquarters near London to find that the entire building had been vacated.

B'eau-Pal: Our Story

The unique qualities of our water come from 25 years of slow-leaching toxins at the site of the world's largest industrial accident. To this day, Dow Chemical (who bought Union Carbide) has refused to clean up, and whole new generations have been poisoned. For more information, please visit http://www.bhopal.org.

Real Housewives of Atlanta on Thursday

"Your mama is a bitch!" Will someone please pull off that awful blonde wig? She's surely got enough money to buy a nice one, doesn't she? Love to watch these girls scratch and claw their way through the elite of Atlanta and I can't wait for the season opener on Bravo Thursday night.

All of my relatives (except my husband, daughter and Mother) and my husband's family live in Atlanta. All my aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Woman accused of killing newborn ate brain

Before getting into this article I can see that somebody is certifiably nutzoid. Let there be no doubt about it.

the story:

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A woman charged with murdering her 3 1/2-week-old son used a knife and two swords to dismember the child and ate parts of his body, including his brain, before stabbing herself in the torso and slicing her own throat, police said Monday.
Otty Sanchez, 33, is charged with capital murder in the death of her infant son, Scott Wesley Buchholtz-Sanchez. She was recovering from her wounds at a hospital, and was being held on $1 million bail.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the early Sunday morning attack occurred a week after the child's father moved out. The child's aunt and two cousins, ages 5 and 7, were in the house, but none were harmed.

McManus, who appeared uncomfortable as he addressed reporters, said Sanchez apparently ate the child's brain and some other body parts. She also tore his face off, chewed off three of his toes and decapitated the infant before stabbing herself.

"It's too heinous for me to describe it any further," McManus said.

Officers called to Sanchez's house at about 5 a.m. Sunday found her sitting on the couch "screaming that she killed her baby," police spokesman Joe Rios said. They found the boy's body in a bedroom.

Police said Sanchez said the devil told her to kill her son.

"It was a spontaneous utterance," McManus said. "She said she was hearing voices."

Personally Speaking...

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Occasionally I will speak from the heart. Below is an example of that and it may also answer a few questions some people may have had.

My husbands's best friend passed away yesterday. He was so broken up and it added to the hurt to see him this way. My husband is such a macho, man's man and to see him vulnerable is something I rarely witness.

We celebrated our 22nd anniversary on July 1st but sadly we live in different zip codes now.

My sister's death a few years ago from liver cancer left my Mother all alone. (She had moved back home when she became sick; my Dad passed in 1990.) Rather than shuffle Mother off to a nursing home, I left my job and my home and moved 60 miles away to stay with her and handle the household duties. It'll be easy peasy; I'd just travel back and forth and live in two houses. Not so easy.

Growing up my Mother and I had a tumultuous relationship- to put it mildly. Everyone knew how much we didn't like each other so it's such strange ironic poetic justice that has us two as the last remaining family members with me taking care of her now.

I suppose I'm feeling vulnerable this morning, too. Today I want to be near my husband. I may go spend the night with him tonight.

Would You Wear These?

Monday, July 27, 2009

OLIVIA MORRIS has collaborated with English brogue-makers Grenson for autumn/winter 2009-10.

"I wanted to collaborate with a British handmade shoe company. I met Tim Little a few years ago on a photoshoot and heard he was working with Grenson, so got in touch with them to see if they'd be interested in working on a small ladies range," Morris explains.

I would easily wear these shoes. I've had ruby red leather oxfords before. In fact, I'm so butch so keen on oxfords and brogues that I'm currently looking to buy some old school oxfords. (think clodhopper cheerleading shoes)

Patti Smith on Michael Jackson

Sunday, July 26, 2009

**EDITED TO CHANGED** This is actually quoted by her bassist, Tony Shanahan. Sorry for the wrong attribution. Thank you.

From Patti on Michael's passing:

"I loved him, and truly was a fan. I bought all the records and danced in my room to them. We we're the same age so I felt like we were growing up together.

When the fame came.... I was proud of him. He broke barriers and changed the music world.

When it was announced early this year that he was going to perform again and do 50 shows I was excited and rooted for him. I wanted to see him back on top doing what he did best.

I'm just so sad....."

Girly and Galliano

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

From (the adorable) John Galliano’s latest couture collection for Dior.

Although the top of this dress I'm not crazy about, the lovely bottom part of this dress really stood out when I ran across it. Why, you ask? Because I have been trying to embrace my femininity lately. Taking closet inventory I realized that most all my clothes were androgynous or masculine looking. Classic, plain, but manly. Why don't I buy girly clothes? I really never have. I'm athletic and sporty and it probably fits who I am but now I'm finally looking at feminine things. Even at this late juncture I feel like I'm still trying to figure out who I am.

Best Thing I Saw All Night

The best thing I saw all night was Fever Ray. Her set was basically the most enveloping show I've witnessed for as long as I can remember, I can't gush enough... Think the Brothers Grimm take Peyote then put on a conceptual West End show about Native American philosiphies of motherhood, with Jim Henson's workshop circa 1984 on the set and costumes.
